  • Tonight - Monday, April 27, 6pm - PVCC's Women in STEM speaker series features Catherine Stone who is going to share her career journey as an engineer in Biomedical Technology via a Zoom meeting.  Her work focuses on developing scalable and sustainable medical device manufacturing. Open to all; questions can be asked through the chat feature. 
  • UVA's School of Continuing & Professional Studies is hosting an online information session about their certificate programs on Wednesday, April 29, at 7pm.
  • Charlottesville Downtown Job Center is hosting an online Facebook Live Job Search workshop  led by Rubina Catalano on Thursday, April 30, 1pm.  
  • Are you an African-American college senior graduating with an associate’s or bachelor’s in Spring/Summer 2020 in political science, government affairs, international relations or the like? Apply by April 30 to the Call + Response program to get free 30-minute virtual mentoring with professionals in these fields.
  • Are you a business owner who has been impacted by COVID-19?  If so, check out Charlottesville City's Office of Economic Development free webinar series.  The second part will be held on 4/29 (Maximizing Cash & Strengthening Finances), and 5/13 (Recovering from CV-19: Back to Business as Usual...or Not?), 9-11am.   Pre-registration is required.

  • Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is offering a number of FREE online classes geared toward the job search, technology (which all employers prefer) and soft skillsThis week's classes include Excel spreadsheet, professional communication, smart phone basics, time management, PowerPoint, interviewing, resume writing and more! 
  • Add Serv-Safe certifications to your resume FOR FREE until April 30.

  • UVA Medical Center is hiring full-time Greeter-Info Desk & Reception paying $12.75 - $19.19/hr. They are also hiring a full-time Access Associate Senior paying $13.12 - $20.34/hr.  These positions may be frozen but we thought we should share them since they're still on UVA's site; we're hearing the medical center has some exceptions to the freeze.
  • Ivy Life & Style Media is hiring an Editor. Position can be full-time or part-time and pays $15-$20/hr. Apply by clicking the job title and applying through the Indeed website. The editor job is not listed on their website but they do have additional listings you can read more about by clicking here.   • Crutchfield is hiring a full-time Technical Support Specialist paying $13.05/hr. This is a work from home position (for now) so you must have a strong broadband connection.
  • Transcom is hiring at home Technical Support Agents. Listen to a sample call by clicking the job title. They provide a computer but you must have a strong internet connection.
