San Jose Love Stories
Take a break from COVID-19 news with some news about the good deeds going on in our community curated by Team San Jose.

Republic Services launched their $20 million "Committed to Serve" initiative to help employees, customers and communities by providing meals for 200 frontline employees per week. In the past few weeks, they have spent $60,000 with local, small businesses to help support Republic Services’ customers in the City of San Jose.

Broadway San Jose partnered with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley to help raise funds to ensure that Second Harvest can continue their mission of providing nutritious food to those who need it most throughout Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.

Since smoking or vaping increases the risk of COVID-19 infections and damages the body’s ability to fight disease, the California Smokers’ Helpline is offering phone and chat counseling for smokers who are trying to quit along with a free 2-week supply of nicotine patches. More information at NoButts.org and NoVapes.org.

As we maintain social distance, the San Jose community is coming together by sharing these Love Stories of human kindness and hometown pride.
