Dear reader,
Our team here at Anthropocene recently sent out an audience survey. Through the responses, we gained a lot of insight into what you want and need from us.
The answers to one particular question really stuck out to me. We asked our audience if they believe people should help fund the news that they read.
A couple of responses:
“I think science needs to be free. I think that's why we have a hard time reaching people who aren't as scientifically-inclined.”
“Everyone should have access to good information, but not everyone is capable of paying for it, so those that can, should.”
We couldn’t agree more. We need to keep science publications like Anthropocene free and accessible to everyone.
We do this in part by asking our readers to make voluntary donations. Our original reporting might be free to consume, but it’s expensive to produce.
Will you please donate today? Your contribution ensures that you—and everyone else—continue to have a reliable source of science-based environmental journalism.
