Special Message from the Finance Committee
This is a challenging time. Day-to-day activities are impacted for everyone--and for many people, physical health, mental health, livelihoods and lives are at stake. This is a time to keep both the neediest in mind and the institutions that are important for helping us cope.
Over the next few months, we expect UUFoM finances to weaken, due to lower Sunday donations and potential pledge shortfalls. And yet, some of our infrastructure can't wait. The roof of our Religious Education wing must be replaced, and a roofing contractor is scheduled to start work on it this summer. We had planned a large capital campaign to raise funds for this and other projects, but have called that off for now. To cover the cost for this phase of the project, we need an additional $10,000 beyond our Major Maintenance Fund balance and what the Endowment Fund has committed. If you have the means to contribute toward the UUFoM roof, please send a check with "UUFoM Roof" noted in the memo line.
This request is not to detract from Eric's recent call for contributions to the Minister's Discretionary Fund, through which he can provide emergency assistance to those in need. Both are important. If you can help with either of these requests, your assistance would be much appreciated.
