Dear Friends,
Nothing I have done in my life, nothing I have learned, taught, seen or heard, could prepare me for the sight of my sister standing with her arms around her children as they recited the kaddish over the newly dug grave of their father.
Our family is heartbroken as we mourn the passing of our brother-in-law Rabbi Benny Wolff, age 43, husband to Sternie, father to their 8 children.
My brother-in-law Rabbi Benny, was named for his great-grandfather Benyamin Wolff, who had escaped with his family from Nazi Germany.
Then, decades later, Benny and my sister Sternie chose to return to Germany to lead the Jewish community in Hanover. They have brought light, warmth, joy and the vibrancy of Jewish life to the thousands in their community.
Whether in a private encounter or while leading hundreds gathered together, Benny filled the space with his positive energy, his passion and his genuine kindness. He laughed easily, he shared effortlessly, and he worked tirelessly.
What he accomplished these past fifteen years in Hanover is quite inspiring and I invite you to read about it here: www.chabad.org/news/article_cdo/aid/4725647/jewish/Rabbi-Binyamin-Wolff-43-Devoted-Rabbi-of-Hanover-Germany.htm
His community is grieving the loss of their devoted Rabbi and friend. My thoughts and prayers are with my sister and her children, that they should feel G-d’s loving embrace even as they mourn the loss of the most important person in their lives.
My young 40-year-old sister Sternie Wolff made the heroic decision to stay in Germany alone with her 8 children, away from family and friends in Israel, to continue hers and her husbands life's mission, to bring the love and warmth of Judaism to the community in Hanover, Germany.
My siblings and I, along with Benny’s family and friends, are dedicated to securing her future in Hannover and the well being of their family. We have set-up a campaign and as Sternie's big brother I have committed to raise $25,000 to assure her financial security. Whatever you can give to help would mean so much to me.

We pray for a time when the world will know no more sadness and tears,
