Dear Reader,

In these unusual times I wish to take a moment to update you on how we at Nordic Innovation are adapting to the current situation with the corona pandemic.

In the beginning of March we postponed our events and deadlines for our calls for proposals. And like everyone around the world, we now meet and work online. Our staff is working remotely across all the Nordic countries, from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and Finland.

We can see the need for digital information is growing, and will therefore continue with this Newsletter more frequently to commmunicate to you and all our partners and collaborators.

In this Newsletter we are proud to present our Annual Report 2019, examples of Nordic digital health solutions to tackle COVID-19 and information about received applications to our call for proposals.

Tackling COVID-19 with innovative Nordic solutions

Nordic Innovation has created a digital catalogue showcasing some of the latest ready-to-use innovative solutions from Nordic companies that all can be utilised in the battle against COVID-19.

OECD and Nordic Innovation joined forces for the circular economy

On 31 March 2020, OECD and Nordic Innovation came together to host two webinars on circular economy: Spotlight on the circular economy in cities and regions and What’s new and how to measure circularity at local level? The interest was overwhelming with approximately 500 people joining the webinars. The effort to work towards a circular economy was as visible as ever.

Nordic Innovation Annual Report 2019

The report will give you a picture of a busy and challenging year with a high level of activity. We hope that it will inspire and prove the Nordic impact and benefit that our programs, projects, and collaborations give.

14 applications submitted in the Nordic Smart Mobility and Collectivity call

The applied projects have a total of 89 partners from all over the Nordic region. The call has a budget of NOK 16 million and the plan is to fund four projects up to NOK 4 million each. Funding decisions are expected in early June 2020.

17 projects applied to Nordic Innovation’s call for proposals on circular cities and new circular solutions.

The 17 projects included a total of 84 participants and combined they applied for NOK 37.343.072. The total budget for the call is NOK 15 million, and the funding decisions are expected 27 May 2020.
