Hey,

We're on day eleventy million of lockdown here in the U.K. and I am currently sat in my car trying to steal a few uninterrupted minutes so I can write to you. I hope that you're all okay, and whatever your situation, I'm sending you love.

I have about half a dozen bits of exciting news today, announcements, giveaways and more. The first of which is, The Anatomy of Prose textbook and workbook are up for preorder!

They'll be releasing on May 29th, 2020.

At the moment, the textbook preorder is live in ebook, paperback, and hardback formats. The workbook ebook and paperback are also live.

I'll be releasing the audiobook for The Anatomy of Prose textbook later this year. The reason for the delay is that we've just bought a house—once we've exchanged contracts, I'll show you a photo of our cute little red door. Anyway, I'm going to build an audio booth in my office, so it makes sense to wait for that, so the sound quality will be consistent.

NEW PODCAST ALERT

In crazy times like these, the best thing to do is add more to your plate, right? I'm kidding. That's a terrible idea, but then I never was very good at following the rules. So me and my writing bud, Daniel Willcocks, have started a new podcast.

It's called: NEXT LEVEL AUTHORS

It's a podcast for all creative achievers out there. Each week we ask each other a pertinent business or writing related question. It's an attempt to make us think about our choices, our businesses and whether or not we're progressing towards the next level. The hope is, this not only helps us to hold each other to account, but helps you guys think about your choices, decisions, and businesses too. Together we'll track our step by step progress and level up our author careers.

Move Your Mail
If you're looking to change your mailing list provider, you might find this comparison table helpful. Thank you to Val Neil for sending it my way. As a result of using it, I've decided to shift mailing list provider next month.

Mailing List Mess
There's a number of reasons I'm moving provider, not least of which is my current provider has become exceedingly expensive and there are other providers out there who do just as good a job for less money. If you also use MailChimp, this article from David Gaughran talks about the changes at MailChimp and what they mean.

Improve Your Craft
Want to bring some depth to your writing? I guest write over at Writers Helping Writers a few times a year. This month, I wrote an article showing you how to bring depth to your prose by incorporating 'touch' as a sense. It's also a sneak peek at The Anatomy of Prose as there's a quote or two from the book.
