Food Safety
Questions are common on federal, state, and local regs regarding food safety. Don't risk acting on misinformation and jeopardizing your operation or being assessed a fine.
  • For state regs, see this page and if you need further clarification. Send your specific questions to RA-FOODSAFETY@PA.GOV  so that you'll get an answer in writing. If needed, you can schedule a follow up call with the staff person who replies to your inquiry.
  • For Federal (FSIS) questions, email InfoSource@fsis.usda.gov or call 1-877-FSIS-HELP (1-877-374-7435).
  • Find slide decks and links to regulatory guidelines on poultry, dairy, and meat processing and sales here.
