Hey.

I've been sitting here staring at a blank screen for at least 5 minutes.

Dumbfounded on what to write.

And to be honest, I haven't had this happen in quite a while... really, it's hard to get me to shut up (ask my wife).

But I wanted to take this moment to first be real with you and tell you I had NO clue what to say to you today.

I'm in a funk.

I'm not the most motivated right now.

I hit snooze 3 times this morning.

And it's just hard for me to get things down on paper (or google doc, in this case).

But that sprouted a great first lesson for you today...

THIS IS REAL.

I'm a human being and I have shitty days, too.

We all do.

In fact, NOBODY has a long streak of perfect days.

We all have stress, anxiety, fear of failure and judgement, unmotivating times, and struggles.

But here's the kicker....

I SHOWED UP.

I'm still here, writing to you - because that's my commitment every week.

And real success is found when you show up, despite not wanting to or being motivated for the work.

The motivation grows after you do the work anyway. I wrote about it last week

Second lesson, I snapped out of it QUICK because I did my morning routine to the T today.

Journal. Greens. Mobility/Stretching. Appreciation Note. Meditation.

All done before doing this, checking notifications, etc....

That puts me in power and allows me to snap out of funks 10x faster than I used to be able to.

But what it really boils down to is routine and self care.

Results don't happen without routines in place.

A routine is your habit builder and tracker.

It's your literal path to the ending destination.

And you have to take care of yourself before you can GIVE more to others.

That's why even on the weekends, I train hard, do my morning routine, and make sure I meditate.

Because I want to SHOW UP as the best version of myself for my family.

And that's how I do it.

Same way I show up for you, my team, and my clients - every day.

So the takeaways for you today, on this fine Tuesday afternoon...

SHOW UP AS THE PERSON YOU KNOW YOU CAN/SHOULD BE.

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, FIRST.

DIAL IN YOUR ROUTINE.
