Waikanae Boating Club Inc. Annual Report 2019-2020 Covid19 Pandemic Level 4 guided by Government & Prime Minister
Reference: Annual General Meeting and Prizegiving 2020 Interruption.
Dear Life Members and Members,
Our constitution along with the interruption that we are experiencing with Covid 19 will inhibit our ability to conduct our AGM and Prizegiving until we are back to Level 1 or 2 which will allow the meeting to take place under these conditions. The gathering of mass persons in one place, location at one time.
Under normal circumstances, the AGM would take place around Queen’s Birthday weekend with a 21-day notice in advance for nominations and seconding for the officer's positions and that of the Committee.
We are asking the Committee and Members for an extension to hold the AGM around 1st Week of July 2020.
Club and Financial Stability
All members should be aware that we carry on as we have over the last 2 years where term deposits exceed $250K and even with this interruption we have made a profit every month. We were also fortunate to receive the wage subsidy from the government of over 22k towards subsidising our staff wages over the last 3 weeks extending out to 12 weeks if need be. We are pretty watertight so no need to worry here.
Building Extension
We have plans with KCDC. We know there are objections for these plans and Covid 19 has really put a spanner in the works. We need to be patient but rest assured under my watchwe will succeed and do it.
Bob Tait Commodore On behalf of the Committee
Life member Dick Milligan has been trucking along well under the Covid-19 lockdown. His daughter Sue has his shopping under control along with his daily needs to keep him safe. We trust that all other life members are experiencing support during this time.
Photo Competition
The winner of our "most liked" isolation photo with the title "Dad has lost the plot"
is Bob Monaghan.
Congratulations we will be in contact with a prize for you.
(Left) Bob, Kerry and Sue have joined bubbles with level 3 now in.
(Right) Evie enjoys her level 3 coffee and a break from home schooling. Her plan is to swim to Kapiti Island and never return!
