Signal One Security is currently seeking armed special police officers to work in SE DC. We are hiring full and part-time SPOs to work all shifts. The starting rate of pay is $17 per hour.

Reporting to the Director of Curriculum and Academic Programs, the Middle School Curriculum Writer is responsible for writing middle school curriculum for the Saga tutoring program, as well as refining and updating existing materials. This includes the brainstorming, writing, and editing of lessons, activities, assessments, and test–prep banks for middle school math. In this position, you will be expected to uphold our organizational standards of excellence, responsiveness, proactivity, and over-delivering service at all times.
Essential Job Functions:
Curriculum Writing, Editing, and Organization (85%)
Develop new middle school Saga lessons, assessments, and activities, through the lens of creating materials that will be used by Saga Fellows, who are generally not trained math teachers.
Seek out resources and best practice research to guide development of quality and cutting-edge materials.
Improve existing Saga lessons to better align with academic scopes and sequences at various school sites.
Evaluate resources and suggestions sent by Fellows and/or Site Directors for possible additions to existing curriculum; respond to Site Director and Fellow curriculum issues, questions, and feedback.
Format all Saga materials in a professional and clean manner, adhering to Saga branding.
Organize the Saga middle school curriculum for online distribution.
Other Tasks (15%)
Help with ongoing Saga curriculum and academic initiatives.
Support Director of Curriculum and Academic Programs with tasks, as needed.
This position n is located in the Administrative Division, of the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA). T h e incumbent serves as an Information Technology Specialist and is responsible for providing substantive support to the design, ongoing development and seamless implementation of ABRA’s designated office database application, including management and network systems configuration that support ABRA information systems such as Accela and iNovah, which includes, launching customer user accounts, online license application submission, online payments, online statements and reports submission, violation issuance, and records management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent plans, coordinates, and evaluates major data management projects to improve effectiveness and efficiency of current information systems resources. Identifies and analyzes problems and proposes automated solutions to data-processing problems. Monitors system usage and identify power users/slow adopters. Monitors network performance and identifies network bottlenecks. Analyzes and diagnoses networking problems and recommends corrective measures. Acquires hardware, software and communication products/services to ensure full operational network/network applications. Interfaces with vendors to resolve system configurations, problems, and other issues. Recommends modifications to network design to maintain/improve network performance and ensures design is adequately documented. Performs local area network configuration management and capacity planning and builds network configuration databases. Conducts maintenance and support of agency network and network applications. Participates in coordinating with District agencies, and developing upgrade plans for ABRA net WAN requirements, acquisitions, connections, equipment installations, maintenance, operations, and support issues; and, ensures efficient maintenance, support, and troubleshoots. Administers agency-wide network solutions and provides technical support for the LAN/WAN environment and assists with end-user problems.
Monitors and troubleshoots all network-related problems and provides or recommends the necessary technical corrective action. Ensures the integration of all system components, e.g., procedures, regulations, laws, databases, policies, software, and hardware. Promotes records management programs, such as centralized records repository; and, standardizes handling/retention procedures, conversion from paper to film/electronic data, and document searches. Monitors additional services that may be provided by Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) or purchase order. Reviews monthly reports on contracted service request calls and Service Level Agreement (SLA) response time. Ensures all ABRA staff locations have fully operational computers and computer systems. Plans, coordinates, and evaluates major data management projects to improve effectiveness and efficiency of current information systems resources. Identifies and analyzes problems and proposes automated solutions to data-processing problems. Designs, normalizes, develops, installs, and implements licensing related databases; develops and administers data standards, policies and procedures; and, develops and implements data mining and data warehousing programs. Provides guidance and advises staff on effective and efficient use of IT systems by rendering technical assistance, training, demonstrations and directions to managers and staff on IT issues and problems. May be required to serve as project leader on special projects. Performs other related duties as assigned.
The Dangerous Speech Project (DSP) is a research team that works to counter dangerous speech and the violence it can catalyze, through original ideas, research and policy work. Dangerous speech is “any form of expression (speech, text, or images) that can increase the risk that its audience will condone or participate in violence against members of another group.”
We seek a consultant experienced in nonprofit/research communications to provide strategic communications support for the DSP. We produce original content including reports, op-eds, and articles, and we need help making sure they get into the hands and brains of those who can best use them.
We require support in the following areas:
Establishing and implementing strategies for effective, creative dissemination of our new publications.
Improving our approach to earned media, monitoring news outlets and social media for mentions of the DSP and key staff, and amplifying relevant media coverage.
Creating engaging and relevant content for the DSP’s social media accounts, to maintain an active presence and build authentic followers.
Posting material to the DSP website, including reports, blog posts, and news articles
Providing regular reports on social media and website engagement, and identifying and implementing strategies for improvement.
