Satellite images help drought and bushfire analysis
Geospatial Intelligence have recently utilised very-high resolution imagery to analyse the effects of the harrowing 'Black Summer' bushfires. The imagery which was captured pre and post fire clearly demonstrates how the bushfires affected our communities and the environment. By applying remote sensing techniques, this multispectral satellite imagery provides an opportunity to investigate fire behaviour, drought, fire intensity and land management. Read more.

Scientist for a day
The Agency recently helped One Giant Leap to select the Australian winners of the NASA Scientist for a Day competition. Students from around the world were asked to write about which moon (Triton, Charon, or Miranda) NASA should return to for further exploration. Each winner's class will have a NASA JPL scientist or engineer teleconference (post-CoVID-19) and their winning essay will be posted on the NASA Scientist for a Day website. Read more.
