While the game will be conducted differently than we are all used to, we cannot wait to have our golfers back and show you all the hard work we’ve been putting in to make the course better than ever. With acres of green space to offer, Billingbear will provide the perfect outdoor getaway for some sunshine and socially-distanced exercise. We will be open from the 13th of May, and tee times can be made beginning now.
Billingbear Golf course will operate consistent with the standards set forth by England Golf and government guidelines. The following highlights key information for booking tee times and preparing for your first round under the new guidelines:
Booking Tee Times
All previously booked tee times, societies and regular bookings including roll ups have been deleted to accommodate 10 minute intervals. Please call us or check your bookings online.
• Online or by phone at 01344869259, contactless payments will be accepted and as usual we are a cashless facility
• Per England Golf restrictions
On-Course Experience
• Only golfers with tee times will be allowed to enter the property
• Please arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to your tee time. Golfers will be required to check-in at the canopy at the club house
• All practice nets, putting greens, and chipping greens will be closed
• All rakes will be removed from bunkers. Please smooth sand with your feet
• No rental equipment will be available, including golf buggies, trolleys and rental clubs. No exceptions will be made at this time. No loyalty cards accepted or stamped until further notice.
• No congregation of more than two players at any point during your visit to the property.
Facilities/Services
• Our clubhouse will remain closed with limited access to toilets. We will keep our canopy window open to allow for check-in and contactless payments.
• Our staff will be limited in order to maintain work distance rules so it is best if you can bring your own drinks/ snacks
• Limited items from the pro-shop will be available upon arrival including balls, tees etc. Customers will not be allowed to enter the clubhouse to purchase but they may be distributed by a member of staff via the window in the canopy
• Ball cleaners are covered up and shoe cleaners have been deactivated
• Bunker rakes have been removed, please smooth out bunkers with your feet
• Flagsticks will remain in the hole at all times and should not be touched by golfers.

Other course news
To help the grass recover from the winter we put plenty of feed out during the lock down and this has slowed the greens down temporarily. We will get them back to the usual speed/ standard over the next few weeks.
No handicap qualifying rounds at the moment and the competition schedule will be adjusted when we have time.
Coaching reminder
Our resident teaching professionals Jack and Gregg are still available to give lessons and can help get your games on track for the upcoming season. The PGA are advising that we prod you with alignment sticks to get you into position so that distancing regulations are maintained
Jack's coaching package is still available even if you don't intend to use it until after the virus threat has subsided.
Gregg is offering 6 lessons for the price of 5 at the moment.
