I am delighted to announce that following government and LTA guidelines, Tennis Angels can now offer 1:1 coaching at both home courts and Marlow & Hambleden Tennis Club.

Our team of coaches: Kate Peel, Dave Sellers, Ruben Rivero and Megan Emmett (with others on standby due to high demand) are ready for action. So if you would like to book a lesson please get in touch.

Exciting news: headed up by Dave Sellers, we have expanded into the Gerrards Cross and surrounding area, so if you or your friends have home courts in that area please get in touch and we can book you in.

We have put together a strict set of Covid Guidelines to ensure all clients and coaches are safe. To read click here

Expanding into South Bucks

We are delighted to announce that Dave Sellers will be heading up the expansion of our home coaching services into the South Bucks area (based around Gerrards Cross and Stoke Park). If you would like a lesson on a home court, please let us know and we offer you a complimentary hours lesson. Similarly if you have a friend you can refer in that area we will offer you an hours complimentary lesson too!
Covid Guidelines

Before Playing
  • We will only coach if you or anyone in your household has suspected symptoms of CV or is in isolation or has been in contact with CV in the last 14days.
Preparing to Play
  • On home courts, coaches will park and go directly to the court. At clubs meet you on the court and ask that you arrive only 5mins before your lesson.
  • Coaches will not be able to socialise before and after the lessons.
  • All parties must wash their hands before & after playing.
When Playing
  • Only Individual sessions are currently available.  Kids lessons are possible, only if the child understands and can comply with the social distancing measures.
  • Lessons will be structured on opposite sides of the net with changing ends to be avoided where possible.
  • Social distance of 2metres must be maintained at all times and with no physical contact.
  • It is strongly suggested that all parties wear gloves.
  • Balls: We can't be sure if a tennis ball can transmit COVID-19. For max protection:
    • We will provide 2 cans of new tennis balls for each lesson, or balls that have not been used for 48hours. Alternatively, we ask that you provide your own basket of tennis balls.
    • The Coach will be the only person to touch the balls where at all possible.
    • Special balls to be provided for serving that will only touched by the player.
After Playing
  • Payment to be made electronically or cash in a plastic bag for safety reasons.
  • All parties to wash hands before & after playing.

Kate's Tips on How to Stay Fit & "Play Tennis" in lock down

The key is to keep your body healthy & fit during the lock down so that when we get back on court you can just focus on hitting balls and not worry about having to get "fit" again.

I have done a lot of research and come up with the following recommendations!

General Fitness For Tennis

To stay fit ready for getting back on court, I recommend combining cardio & strength training: (that's what i am doing!)
1. 3 times a week: Cardio training e.g. running, cycling, skipping, power walking for minimum 30mins
2. 2 times a week: Strength/Hit Training ideally involving weights
I have been using classes from the following sites which i highly recommend:
Lee Mills www.lesmills.com/uk/
Pop Sugar On You Tube
FIIT www.fiit.tv

Tennis Specific Workouts and Drills
See Essential Tennis
www.essentialtennis.com

This is for the tennis fan who wants to learn whilst they are on lock down. With over 150,000 followers this is the best site for drills, learning and home tennis fitness. It even has its own academy you can join in lock down.

Best for kids
LTA
www.lta.org.uk

Join their "Tennis At Home" program which has lots of great practises to do at home.... particularly good for kids.
There is even a "100 volley" challenge with Andy Murray.

If you have your own court...
