Hi <<First Name>>,
There's this group of intellectually advanced individuals trying to save the economy. I was invited to participate in their conversation. After two weeks of blah blah blah nothing was happening. They were stuck on what name should they give their Facebook Page (or group, that hadn't been decided either.)
These smart people were stuck in the miasma of planning it all out to a perfect T. You know there is no such thing as perfect. They were waiting for the government organizations to weigh in. It was all such BS!
So I responded to the last email that was sent with this:
I want to get to work. We don’t need permission from government to get things done.
What is your big idea for your town? Mine is to help businesses get locals to shop with them again. I call my friends together (zoom right now) and share that idea. What are their ideas about it? This is gathering your crowd.
Now we will need some resources. Who knows a cleaning company that can come in and sterilize the store? Who will help Mr x rearrange his furniture store because he can’t any more? Who is good about setting up a Facebook page or group? That is building connections.
Now everyone goes and takes small steps. Someone makes a ‘my store is ‘sterilized ’ or 'we wash our hands after every customer’ posters. Someone else posts on Facebook about what they’re doing to make their customers feel safe. And so on. Small but meaningful steps. This is Taking Small Steps.
Sound chaotic? It is. Because people are testing their ideas and get this - they are having fun!
This process is called the Idea Friendly Method.
