Webinars from Birmingham Community Matters:
funding updates for community and voluntary organisations

While we all tiptoe through this temporary 'new normal', here is a valuable chance to get:

* Updates on the current funding environment
* Information about support available for community groups or projects
* Your fundraising questions answered by an expert.

Following our first successful webinar (online seminar) at the end of April, we've got dates for two more.

Thursday 21 May: for groups in the Selly Oak area (new and previous attendees welcome)
Thursday 28 May for groups and projects across Birmingham.

Lasting around an hour each, the webinars will be hosted by us on Zoom and delivered by John Ellery from grant fundraising consultancy Get Grants.

Don't worry if you're unfamiliar with video calling. We can help you with the technology if you need it - just email us after you've signed up (info@birminghamcommunitymatters.org.uk).
Feedback on our first webinar:

"I thought that Jo and John presented wonderfully in an informative and reassuring manner given the current funding climate."

"Felt relaxed and well organised. Easy to follow. Great advice. Good platform to use as well."
Thursday 21 May at 11am: Selly Oak groups

Thanks to funding from the Selly Oak Neighbourhood Network Scheme, this webinar is for community groups supporting older people in the Selly Oak ward.

That's Billesley, Bournbrook, Selly Park, Bournville, Cotteridge, Brandwood, Kings Heath, Druids Heath, Monyhull, Highters Heath, Kings Norton North, Stirchley, Weoley and Selly Oak.

If you attended the first one, you are very welcome to join us again. It will not be a direct repeat, although the themes will be similar. We will respond to questions raised in the first webinar and start look at funds related to transition and recovery. We're also encouraging new attendees from the area.

Thursday 28 May at 11am: groups across Birmingham

This webinar will follow the same format. It is for community groups and projects from anywhere in Birmingham.

Before we go, here is a new flyer outlining what we do at BCM. It also explains how we've adapted our services during this health crisis.
We have compiled this page of resources for community groups in response to the coronavirus outbreak. It includes sections on grants, continuity for your group, information on managing volunteers, and more. We're updating it regularly, so please do send us anything you think we should add.

Sending you our very best wishes -
Everyone at Birmingham Community Matters

ps. Do you know someone who'd like to hear about our webinars? Please forward this email to a friend. And if you're that friend: welcome! Learn more about BCM and sign up to receive our e-newsletters (usually just once a month - this one's a special edition).
