ANU News

Changes made to direct application process
In response to COVID-19 study disruptions, we have changed our admissions process for Year 12 students who are applying directly to ANU for undergraduate study in 2021.
Key information:
  • We will now make offers based on Year 11 results on 10 August 2020, and these will be honoured for study in 2021 as long as students have completed Year 12.
  • Students will still need to complete Year 12 in order to be eligible for study in 2021.
  • If Year 11 results don't meet entry requirements, we will automatically consider students on their Year 12 results in the December offer round.
Learn more  in our Frequently asked questions - Changes to domestic admissions for 2021.

UCAT 2020 and COVID-19 It is likely that the UCAT will be postponed by a few weeks but will remain as one of the criteria for selecting medical students. UCAT registrations are proceeding as normal. You will be notified by email of any likely changes to the testing date. Additional precautions at the testing centre will be in place to minimise the spread of infection. MedEntry UCAT workshops are running as scheduled.

One problem I have noticed is the lack of information available about the UCAT for Year 12 students. As you may be aware, UCAT has replaced UMAT as the admissions test for entry into medicine and dentistry university courses.

I thought it would be useful to provide you with helpful information about the UCAT exam as registration for the UCAT have started! Here is a comprehensive 2020 UCAT Handbook. Come down to the Careers office or email us if you have any questions!
