COVID-19 Operations Update

"I feel like there is hope and peace. You guys give your heart and soul to work with us."  - current guest at KentHOPE

Since April 24th, KentHOPE staff and guests are no longer on lock down, but wear masks and gloves in all common areas, as well as for necessary and limited off-campus trips. Staff work regular shifts and maintain safety recommendations when off duty. Overnight shelter services continue to be held on site for now. Our goal is to keep everyone as safe as possible during these times.

We are currently serving 12 guests, having recently accepted two new guests! Our limited intake at this time requires verifiable quarantine and negative test results. When one of our homeless neighbors calls the King County COVID hotline to request testing and assessment, she is picked up and taken to an isolation site to await testing. When found negative, she can be released to KentHOPE.

Volunteers continue to prepare and deliver meals. Meals are the only in-kind items we are accepting at KentHOPE during this time. Learn more about bringing a meal here!  Check out our Facebook page and website for other needed items to be dropped off at the Mission's Distribution Center.

Thanks for your continued support in this very difficult time! We appreciate your financial support and ask you to pray that KentHOPE guests and staff remain healthy and safe.

Guests grow close during COVID-19 lock down

Staff and guests have been having some amazing experiences while in lock down that centered on growth in relationship with each other and Jesus Christ.

(Please note, all images taken during full lock down, when staff and guests lived together onsite, with no coming or going. In our current status, staff and guests are required to wear masks and gloves while in common spaces indoors.)

Guests made get well cards for Children's Hospital patients.

Spa Day was a special treat.

Staff made cake pops out of radishes for April Fool's Day.

Guests, staff and their children enjoyed hot dogs and s'mores around a campfire.

Dance party!

In March, 10 women accepted Christ as Savior and four re-dedicated their lives to Him.

Five guests were baptized as a public proclamation of their decisions to follow Christ

Your Gift Transforms Lives

KentHOPE is uniquely positioned to love and care for our local homeless neighbors. Eight out of 10 of the women we serve previously had South King County addresses before they became homeless.

It costs $1,409 per month for one woman to receive the love, care, and practical help to meet her urgent needs through our program.

Through your generosity, 647 women have transitioned out of homelessness through KentHOPE in the past six and a half years.  261 women found new employment.
