News and Events

Pam Billinton

In the passing of Pam Billinton at 94, All Saints has lost a character.  Born in India, Pam served in the Wrens during the 1939-45 war. She was based in the outskirts of London, but managed to get into the City and to dance halls.
After the war Pam was the first woman radiographer in Malta, developing the X-rays herself. She joined the yacht club and became crew for a yachtsman. But she caused a disturbance in conservative Valetta in being spotted walking to the club in shorts – for the first and last time. She went on to work in Libya and other Middle East countries, and in the UK at Redhill.
Pam was a regular attender at the Friday lunchtime Communion services, where she had a number of good friends, who enjoyed her sharp mind and stories, and a home group until a few months ago. After an injury from a fall, Pam developed another illness and survived only a short time in hospital. Details of funeral still to be arranged.

Have You any Wool?

Members of Tiger@Ten, our group for over 55s, need more wool to knit squares to make blankets for Care Sri Lanka. The Christian charity distributes the blankets to Tamil people in need in north east Sri Lanka. We are looking for double knitting wool only which you can deliver to Simon Head in Duke's Road or we can arrange to be collected. Please contact Simon on 01444 482123 or 07732 017304.

Daily Hope

Daily Hope offers comforting hymns, daily prayers and reflections as well as full worship services from the Church of England at the end of a telephone line. The line is free and available 24 hours a day on 0800 804 8044 and has been set up particularly for those with no digital access to social media services. If you know someone who would like to use the service please let them know!

All Saints Mission Support

Please continue to pray for our Mission Partners who, like us all, are impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Coronavirus is spreading among the world’s poorest communities and All Saints Mission Partners need extra prayer and financial support at this time. Among them Tearfund has issued an urgent appeal to support them by praying and giving whatever you can. Here is a link to the appeal. Thank you.

This week’s All Saints Prayer Focus is for Simon and Becky Lunt.

Prayer Points

A dear friend died from Covid19 in April. Thank God for bringing him into his Kingdom 17 years ago, as a refugee from Iraq. For Simon and Becky's key role in nurturing his faith and supporting him over those years. Pray as they seek to support his eldest daughter and her family who live in Iraq. Thank God for giving them opportunities to speak to her of the living faith in Christ as well as giving her a powerful online adaptation of the Jesus film. Ask the Lord to give them wisdom and insight in seeking to be a light for Christ.
Thank God that Becky and her whole family sometimes now lead the online children's service for their London church – St Mark's. Thank him for Becky's gift for storytelling, puppetry and singing, and for Josiah, their eldest son's filming and editing skills.
Pray for wisdom as they seek to support and stay in touch with people who face difficult challenges in their multi-cultural community through phone calls and social media.
