As a result of the current coronavirus pandemic we have had to postpone or cancel some of the events that we had planned for the first half of the year. We hope to be able to restart our lecture series at the Ethiopian Community in Britain, London NW3, on 23 June, but recognise that this may not be possible and that this event may have to be postponed, or changed to an online event. The lectures we have planned for July and August may be similarly affected. Because of the uncertainty we have decided to move our AGM to later in the year - we hope that we will be able to hold it in September.
Supper Clubs, our monthly visits to Ethiopian restaurants in London, have all been cancelled for the time being.
Book clubs will, for the time being, be run online using Zoom video conferencing software, and we will be holding them more frequently. We will start on 27 May with Maaza Mengiste's The Shadow King; this event was originally scheduled to be held in March.
Spring News File is now at the printers and we hope to be able to post it out to members next week.
