If approved, Measure 34-297 would renew a 5-year levy for July 2021-June 2026, which would provide 40% of WCCLS funding. This would support public library operations, reading programs for children, book purchases, the countywide online catalog and book delivery between libraries. If approved, this levy would maintain a fixed rate of $0.22 per $1,000 of assessed value, which would be unchanged from the current rate. In 2021, typical homeowners with an assessed value of $300,000 would pay $66 per year. If the measure does not pass, reductions in service levels would likely occur, including reductions in hours, book purchases and events, as well as reductions in countywide services such as the countywide online catalog and book delivery; the tax would not be assessed. Our new Wiser Teens Newsletter is ready for your inbox.
