COVID-19 Response

Before a youth is admitted to our Jordan, Niama, or Jelani group homes, they must go through a standard health screening. In addition to this, the youth must have a temperature under 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit and cannot display any signs of respiratory illness.

Rebound's on-call nurse, Sue Champion, is available as a resource whenever health questions arise and we have used her expertise when creating this response to the virus. Programmatically, we are no longer taking our youth to enclosed outings (movies, shopping, etc); hard surfaces are being disinfected on a regular basis, while staff and youth have always been and are continued to be encouraged to consistently wash their hands.

We have also provided each house with thermometers (including disposable tips) to monitor and maintain everyone's health. Our staff are required to wear masks, and residents are encouraged to do so as well.  If at any point a quarantine is necessary because a child has contracted the virus, we have prepared additional space with extra utensils (forks, plates, spoons  etc.) for the youth to use. Staff have been instructed to stay home if they are experiencing any respiratory illness symptoms and must be symptom free for 24 hours before they are allowed to return to work.

We thank you for your continued support and patience as we navigate this global pandemic together. As an organization we will continue to follow CDC recommendations and make any changes or updates as needed to our response plan.

Connecting with Your Youth

We understand that especially now it may be harder than ever to reach and communicate with the kids you are currently working with. To help combat that, all of our programs have been equipped with computers with webcam accessibility. We use this to allow our youth to not only check in with you, but their families and mental health workers as well. If you would like to schedule a conference call, please reach out to our case manager Tianca Little to schedule a time and set one up
