BCSU's Monthly Prayer Update
Informing you about the ministry of BCSU,
so that you will know how to pray for us.

Persevering with Digital Ministry

As the time in quarantine has continued to drag on, BCSU has continued to persevere with its new form of digital ministry. With "zoom fatigue" setting in, and the hours in front of the screen becoming longer and longer, it can be easy to start to feel discouraged. However, in the midst of all of this, we have continued to see God work in the lives of students. Here are a few messages that students have sent to staff over the last month:

  • "Thank you for the Bible study tonight. I've learnt a lot, and I will be sure to read my Bible on my own, you've inspired me. I think I know some others who might be interested in the group, I'll invite them to join." (From a student who hasn't been a part of the group for a long time, but has come back now that she has more time).
  • "I really needed this time together, and it's made my whole week. It felt like a slice of home. I'll be joining in each week for sure." (From an international student who is struggling with being stuck in Bulgaria far from his home country during this time)
  • "I really enjoyed the Bible study today. It helped me answer a few personal questions I was having. It's a great relief to think I'm not big enough to mess up God's plan" (From a graduating student who is worried about how the epidemic is going to affect her ability to get a job.)
It's so encouraging to see how God continues to work, no matter what, and it is a joy to get to help students process their anxieties and disappointments and to point them to God. Thank you for continuing to pray for and support BCSU during this time.

Prayer Requests

  • Praise God for the many events that we have had online for students this month. At least two non-Christian students joined the "Virtual Easter Party" for the International student group, we have continued to hold national student gatherings, and we have added a national prayer event as well.
  • Each May we hold a debriefing conference for the participants in our Barnabas intern program. This year we will hold the event online, on May 16th. Please pray for this time together, and that the interns will still feel like they have finished the year well, even though it might not look like what we expected.
  • Students in Bulgaria are starting to take end of semester exams, and they are having to take them online. This is an added level of stress in an already difficult time for them. Please pray that the students would be able to focus and study well, and that they would be able to trust God with their anxieties!
Give to the ministry of BCSU!
