The Southeast District Board of Ministry is pleased to announce that after being recommended by our local church, completing candidacy studies, and interviews with the Board, Shiela Boyles and Jim Carrier have been approved as candidates for Ministry. Shiela was also invited to attend the virtual licensing school for the Missouri Conference in order to be appointed as a licensed local pastor in July. Both Shiela and Jim will continue to serve in the services and ministries at our church, as well as servicing to help supply other churches in our area.
Congratulations to both Shiela and Jim!

-
Please stay at least 6 feet away from anyone not in your party or family grouping.
-
We will have family seating and reserved pews in the Sanctuary. Orders of worship will be in seats you can use and signs will mark areas not to use to provide social distancing.
-
We are encouraging everyone to wear a mask for the protection of others. This is a way to show our love for our neighbor. We have a supply and they will be individually bagged for your use on the way in the doors. No one will be forced to wear a mask, and those leading the services will not be wearing a mask while they are speaking and singing but we will be practicing social distancing.
-
There will not be coffee or other refreshments.
-
Persons are asked not to gather in the lobbies or other spaces closer than 6 feet.
-
We know it sounds hard after not seeing each other but please refrain from hugs and handshakes.
-
We will not have Sunday school, children’s ministry or nursery.
-
Parents are responsible for helping their children and youth practice social distancing. Some have suggested that Dads or relatives should take the lead as a gift to Moms.
-
Weather permitting the doors will be open at 10:15 and remain open until 10:35, so you will not have to use handles.
-
We are asking people running a temperature to please stay home.
-
Offering baskets will be at the doors.
-
Just the CLC and main street doors will be open for the public.
-
We will not have a full choir.

Amazing Grace
We love to talk about God’s Grace. We are currently preaching about Grace. I hope and pray that all of us have accepted God’s Grace in our lives and opened the gift of amazing Grace that saves us and takes away our guilt and shame, making us a new creation, a child of God. The hard part for many of us is living “Grace filled lives.” We continue to experience guilt and shame and allow them to control our lives instead of living in the grace and freedom God has given to us in Jesus.
This Sunday will be a great opportunity for us to practice and live into grace. I’m inviting all of us to let go of guilt and shame and live in grace as each of us prayerfully listens to God’s leading about the right way for each of worship on this Mother’s Day. For some God is calling us to lead the way and be part of a small “crowd” gathering with the social distancing guidelines outlined below to enter into in person worship at 10:30 in the sanctuary. Others will be called or feel safer to continue to worship online this Sunday at 9 or 10:30. Both are great options and no one needs to feel guilty about choosing one option or the other. What is right for one person or one family is right for someone else.
I know we had images of a big reopening rally with everyone greeting each other and lifting our voices together, however that is not our reality. We are going to have to take baby steps as we reopen. I hope each baby step will lead to the next step, but we also know that we might fall down and have to get back up. That is also a reality of where we are because know one has been here before. So let’s give each other the same grace that God is giving us to try new things, to take small steps of faith and to know that we are going to fall down sometimes, but that each of us are children of God and loved by God.
I’m praying for each of you and I hope and you that are praying for your church, your neighbors and our world. Know that I look forward to seeing you Sunday, however you choose to join us for worship.
Happy Mother’s Day,
David

If you have any knowledge of where these song books have went, will you please contact the church office? If you happen to have 1 of these songs books, will you please return it? Books can be brought to the church office, or you can place individual books in the drop/mailbox out side.
