WORDS OF COMFORT & ENCOURAGEMENT

CONNECTING OUR EPWORTH CHURCH FAMILY THROUGH DAILY DEVOTIONS

Submitted by Pat Masius

Scripture:  Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

I do not believe that God caused the coronavirus, but I do believe He is using it to bring out the best in us and draw us back to Him.  Every day we see on TV and read about people providing for the needs of those less fortunate than themselves.  TV anchors, actors and actresses are publicly thanking medical personnel, public servants, grocery store employees, and those working in essential businesses for risking their safety for us.

When was the last time you heard anybody talking about prayer on TV?  Now we are seeing it every day, from news anchors to TV personalities.  Since early Bible times, we have turned to God in times of crisis, and then when the crisis has passed, we tend to begin thinking more about ourselves and turning away from God.

My prayer for our nation and world is that, when the church doors open again, we will fill the pews in our churches, thanking God for His grace and mercy, and vowing to put Him first in our lives.  To quote Wayne Allen, "May it be so!"
