Dear friends of camp,

After many discussions and prayers, the staff alongside the board of directors have made the very difficult decision to cancel our 2020 summer camp programming. This was not a decision we made lightly as we tried to think through how we could safely carry-out camp, but couldn’t find a way that could ensure the health and safety of our campers and staff which is of utmost importance to us.
 
We are disappointed and saddened that we won’t get to celebrate our 40^th anniversary with regular summer programming, our ministry and the reason we began 40 years ago, but we know this is for the best.
 
We will miss you. We will miss the excitement of registration, as some campers would have arrived for their first summer at Crooked Creek while others would have been excited to experience their last! We will miss the sound of the bell calling all campers to sit underneath the big oak tree. We will miss the delicious camp meals, the cookouts, and those tasty s’mores. We will miss the laughter of campers running to their next activity, the counselors joking with one another and the stories shared within the cabins. We will miss the activities that filled the summer days like canoeing and kayaking, hiking, swimming in the brand-new pool, playing carpetball, gaga ball, capture the flag and more! We will miss the sweet harmonies of campers singing the Crooked Creek song, ‘When I come to Camp’ and shouting out the words to other favorite fireside songs.  We’ll miss the smell of too much bug soother, our clothes cloaked in smoke and the way the sun warms our skin. We’ll miss that accomplished feeling of another successful sleep-out night, where we shared stories and fell asleep under the big starry night sky.
 
We’ll miss having a camp season together, getting to know you and for you to know us, unlike any other experience.  But we’ll be back. And we promise, we won’t forget about you, so please don’t forget about us!

If you have already registered your child for summer camp, you will be refunded in full. 

Though we’re saddened by this decision, please know we are working on a NEW way to experience and enjoy camp this summer.  More information and details to come.
