Thank you to our Angel Care girls for crowning Mary today!

Greetings from Guardian Angels School!

On behalf of the Guardian Angels school families, teachers and staff, we would like to thank those of you who continue to pray for the success of our school. I am so proud of how well our students and staff have transitioned to distance learning. It has been a huge learning curve for all, especially our parents. Without their support teaming with our dedicated staff, our students would not be thriving as well as they are.

Like most of our beloved spring traditions, Teacher Appreciation Week this past week looked different this year. Adding it to the ever-growing list of small griefs and moments that have been lost, without warning. But it didn’t feel right to let this special week fall to the wayside. So, while we couldn’t celebrate another year of a job well done alongside your teachers, staff and students, I would encourage all of us to show our gratitude to all the teachers in our extended GA parish/school family (both private and public schools).

Let us give thanks to them for leaving extra room in their hearts for their students. They live our faith by taking on the emotional labor that comes with loving so fiercely and without reservation. They see each and every student, cheer them on, celebrate them, and fight for them. They are “their kids” too, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Let’s thank them for sharing their limitless imaginations with us. They are truly innovators, doing more with less and not letting technical or geographical limitations stop them from keeping their students connected and engaged. From online conversations, to home visits through glass doors, through driving by homes to drop off Easter or May baskets - they are there. They are a constant in a world that is priceless. They are an unstoppable force for good in a scary, worrisome time. Their work makes their students’ day and brings them hope.

While we all cheer for doctors, nurses, and medical teams out of our windows each night, let us all cheer for our teachers and support staff too. Let’s ring the bell for our heroes on the home front, who rearranged the entire educational system almost overnight. Let’s honor them as they are still planning, still teaching, still connecting, and still leading during an international crisis. They do this with all the love and compassion they have for their students. And they do it all with families and concerns of their own.

We, the rest of the staff, would like to thank Mrs. Lovegreen for her countless hours and support.  She is dedicated to making us the best staff we can be. It wasn't easy changing to distance learning but she researched and shared countless tools to help us transition.  She is our "Guardian Angel."
Thank you, Mrs. Lovegreen
Thank you to all of our Guardian Angels Families and PTO for the wonderful surprise visit to our homes with the yard sign and gifts.  We were not expecting any recognition during this extraordinary time but we should have known better.  You always treat us with the utmost honor and respect.  You are the best and we are truly thankful. Blessings to you all.

Please join us as we pray the rosary daily at 4:00 and the litany of saints at 11:05 for the health and welfare of all people during this difficult time in our world. God bless you all!

Hello GA Families!

It's that time of year- the GA school garden needs planting! Unfortunately, we did not get the chance to plan the garden as a school this year, as we have in the past, but we still all have a chance to participate and reap the benefits throughout the summer.

At the end of this email there will be two Signup Genius links.

The first will be to sign up to plant one of the gardens as a family.  On Saturday, May, 9 and Monday, May 11, there will be time slots to plant one of the gardens (3 slots/gardens on each day, so sign up quickly!).

I (Mrs. Cook) will leave all of the plants, seeds, plans, tools and instructions right at the garden and be available by phone if there are any questions. (I might hang around too, if possible.)

The gardens are going to be a fun mix this year, as always:
1. A garden of JUST POTATOES (!!),
2. An herb garden (the chives and oregano have come back from last year!),
3. A pollinator flower garden,
4. A SALAD garden (greens, carrots, beans, cherry tomatoes),
5. A salsa garden (peppers both sweet and hot, tomatoes, tomatillos, cilantro, parsley)
6. A random favorites garden (Broccoli, carrots, cabbage and pumpkins)

The second Signup Genius is for taking care of the gardens throughout the year.  As in years past, we are hoping that folks can sign up for a week or two during the summer to water and weed once or twice, depending on rain, and to harvest whatever is ready for picking.  We will also let the parish community know that anyone is welcome to harvest- these gardens are for everyone and the food is for eating!

The one donation that we could use is mulch... if anyone thinks of it, please pick up a bag of mulch, any color, any size and dump it around the paths- it needs refreshing each year so the weeds don't get too bad around the garden paths.

Thank you so much for your participation in this project! It's so wonderful to have our parish and school represented in the neighborhood by something that gives nourishment and beauty to anyone walking by!
