Across Europe the ‘lockdown’ measures taken to combat the coronavirus are being eased. We hope you’ve been finding ways to enjoy nature in your backyard, and stay active. In Chamonix, in the French Alps, which is the starting point for many of our trips, the majority of restrictions on outdoor activity have been lifted and the locals now have some freedom to get out and explore the mountains again. But that doesn’t mean the Tracks and Trails team will be hitting the trails in the same way as before, at least not quite yet.
It's still important to maintain social distancing as well as not take any risks that could put pressure on our rescue systems orhealth care. That means we'll still be staying relatively close to home and no overnight hut trips for a little while.
Here are our top tips on staying motivated and fit during this transition period, as lockdown eases.
Tracks and Trails will continue to work towards preparing the company for the re-opening of international travel as soon as this is safe to do so.
We looking forward to seeing you again soon in the mountains!
