Who is allowed to travel to Australia?
- Details are at http://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/coming-australia.
- Australian citizens and Permanent Residents can travel to Australia.For others, it is your responsibility to make sure you have a visa, including for family members.
- Australian Permanent Visa holders can also still enter Australia (e.g. visas numbers 100, 309, 801, 820 and child visas 101, 102, 445).If you have a Temporary Visa you must get approval to fly into Australia using the COVID-19 Request to Travel Form. This includes visa holders such as immediate family (i.e. spouse, defacto, children, guardian) of a citizen or permanent resident. This approval takes 48 hours.
- If you do not have a visa you must apply online at ImmiAccount and request urgent processing to the Bangkok immigration team through this enquiry form. This visa application and approval-to-fly process takes at least three days.
- If you do not get a response on your visa application or approval-to-fly request please email immigration.yangon@dfat.gov.au.
How do I travel to Yangon?
- If you need to travel to Yangon, do so now. The flight will not wait for you.
- You might need to travel by private car at your cost.
- There are limited domestic flights (e.g. Air KBZ).
- Once you’ve purchased tickets, the Embassy can provide a letter supporting your domestic travel to Yangon. Please email consular.yangon@dfat.gov.au.
- In Yangon, stay at a hotel very close to Yangon International Airport.
How much for a ticket?
- The ticket cost is USD 808 per person for economy class. This is approximately AUD 1,256.
- Refunds may not be available if you do not board. Speak to Singapore Airlines directly.
How do I buy a ticket?
- Contact Singapore Airlines to make payment (contact details below).
- You can only purchase tickets through the Singapore Airlines office in Yangon (not online).
- You should pay for your ticket directly using a credit card.
- If you cannot use a credit card you need to pay in cash by Thursday lunchtime.
What if I have a cancelled Singapore Airlines ticket?
- Discuss directly with Singapore Airlines.
- If you had a Singapore Airlines ticket for another flight you may be able to offset some of the ticket cost.
- However, this is subject to your specific ticket and Singapore Airlines agreement and conditions.

How do I contact Singapore Airlines?
Do I need to quarantine in Sydney?
- Yes, for 14 days. You will be given a hotel room, meals and access to medical support.
- You may not need to quarantine for travel within Australia after the initial 14 days in Sydney.
- For example, there is no requirement in Victoria to quarantine after travelling domestically.

What do I do at the Airport on Sunday?
- Be at the airport at 10am. Do not be late.
- In general, procedures will be like any commercial flight.
- As normal, you must have your passport.
- You should have printouts of any visa approvals and documents.
- Make sure you have money at the airport to pay any overstay visa fees.
- You must complete a health declaration and questionnaire at the airport.
- You must have a face mask for travel.
- You will be temperature checked at the airport.
- You will not be able to fly if you have COVID symptoms.
- You will not be able to fly if you have had contact with a COVID positive person in the last 14 days.
- You do not need a fit-to-fly certificate or COVID test report.
