I hope you're doing well during this sequester, and not tearing your hair out missing family and friends. (Although now that salons can open again, these things can be fixed!)

I'm lucky one of my "kids" lives close by. My daughter, Amy, visited last week and we made sure to socially distance. She is concerned about bringing the virus to Henry and me. She brought her own chair, her own food and drink, and of course, her dog Brodie. We chatted "across the pond". It was so hard to say goodbye and not be able to hug. Ugh, no hug.

Happy Mother's Day On that note, I wish y'all a VERY HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY. Celebrate yourself, your mother, your daughters and even grand-daughters if they have children. I heard President Trump on Fox & Friends this morning talk about how lucky he was to have a mother who believed in him and how that gave him confidence. Whether your children are near or far, whether your own mother is here or has passed, enjoy your special day, celebrating the loving bond between mother and child.

Participate in the Volunteer Engagement Project (VEP): calling potential Republican voters in Central Texas. There are many classes, so surely one fits your schedule.

If we register all those Republicans who have moved into Texas but, for one reason or another, have not registered to vote: WE WIN! Perhaps they don't know where to go to register. Perhaps with Coronavirus, they don't want to venture out to register. Perhaps they forgot with everyday life and just need a gentle reminder.

NOTICE
BASTROP GOP CHAIR regarding our GOP Convention:
"Unfortunately due to the restriction on large gatherings not being lifted by the Governor, we are going to reschedule the 2020 County Convention from May 16th to June 6th.

"As stated in a previous email, we have moved the location of the County Convention from Bastrop Intermediate School to the Family Worship Center in Elgin. We are immensely grateful for the generous offer of space from the Family Worship Center.

"The Family Worship Center is located at 2425 FM 1704 in Elgin, TX. We are going to tentatively schedule the convention for June 6th from 9:00 to 3:00 pm. Check in will occur from 8:15 am to 8:45am. The time of the convention will be strictly followed and cooperation will be considered essential as people I suspect will still be leery of large gatherings.

"In order to be a delegate to the County Convention, you must have been elected at the precinct conventions. However, individuals are welcome to attend as guests. If you would like to be a delegate to the state convention, please contact us at bastropctyrepublicans@gmail.com for more information."
