As we celebrate nurses and teachers this week, I also want to recognize a debt of gratitude to our law enforcement officers. Overland Park hasn't lost an officer in the line of duty since Deanna Rose in 1985 - until this week. Please join me to honor the life of Overland Park Policy Officer Mike Mosher. In addition to the events listed below, I have placed blue lights in windows of my home.

Sunday night, beginning at 8:30 p.m., a fleet of public safety vehicles, with emergency lights on, will drive through Overland Park in place of a candlelight vigil to honor the life of fallen Police Officer Mike Mosher, who died in the line of duty this week.

You can do your part by turning your house light blue, attaching blue ribbons to trees or your house, or something else.
Then, gather along the procession route to salute and pay respects to officers.
