As the COVID-19 quarantine is about to head into its third month, taking care of yourself both physically and mentally is so important! As we adapt to staying at home, it’s easy to neglect little things such as skincare and physical wellbeing. The next time you’re feeling restless, try these self-care activities that will help keep you feeling fresh and rejuvenated. Your body will thank you!

DIY skincare tips

With everyone at home, not getting as much fresh air and sunshine as before, you might notice that your skin is feeling dry, undernourished and just generally missing its sparkle. A great way to put some colour back into your cheeks is a face mask.  Here’s a neat article about how to make DIY face masks at home. They are really simple to make & If you’ve got kids around, you could even combine it into a win-win activity. https://www.marieclaire.com/beauty/how-to/a2830/best-homemade-face-masks/.

Do daily stretches to rejuvenate your body

Missing the gym? Don’t let it get you down! Simple stretches can move blood around the body and keep your muscles loose while we’re all at home. It’s also a great way to take some time for yourself and away from your work (or looking after the kids!) Here are some really simple stretches that you can do in just 10 minutes: https://youmatter.world/en/coronavirus-home-quarantine-stretches-posture/.

Tips on cutting your hair

Assuming most of you have a pair of clippers at home, but getting a fresh fade isn’t as easy as turning it on and moving it across your scalp! First of all, if your clipper has not been used in a while, consider applying a lightweight oil to it or it might snag hair. It’s also recommended to cut your hair dry, instead of wet, because wet hair will shrink in length when it dries. Therefore, if you’re cutting wet hair, you might be taking more off than you anticipated! There are some great guides on YouTube if you’re feeling brave!

Fraser Valley Real Estate Board

Fraser Valley real estate market contracts and adapts in response to public health measures to mitigate COVID‐19

As anticipated, real estate activity saw a steep decline last month in response to the pandemic lockdown, resulting in one of the slowest Aprils in Fraser Valley history.

The Fraser Valley Real Estate Board (FVREB) processed a total of 688 sales on its Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®) in April, a decrease of 52 per cent compared to sales in March and a decrease of 50 per cent compared to April of last year. According to FVREB historical data, last month’s sales were on par with April sales in 1983 through to 1985; and new listings are in line with numbers last seen in April 1981.

Chris Shields, President of the Board, observes, “Even though March’s initial numbers promised a banner spring, we expected the market to respond this way in April. Both sales and listings contracted in tandem as we all moved swiftly to embrace the measures necessary to respond to this global pandemic. Given that the volume of new listings coming on stream fell even faster than sales in April, the market remains stable.”
