Welcome to the weekend.

Nearly 50 days in lockdown (I believe). I found this week encouraging as I spoke to several peers across different industries. Most said that business was in-fact looking positive compared to how they expected, not all doom and gloom. Albeit many are affected I do hope others are experiencing or seeing movement towards a more positive outlook. If I can help in any-way let me know - it was great just touching base with others to see if they were OK.

Here are 7 things I thought you’d need to know for May 09th in under 3 minutes: 👀

. . .

Leadership 😳

1. I re-watched Jason Lemkin’s webinar with Nick Mehta from Gainsight on ‘What it was like in 08/09’ and discovered good reminders as a leader on the learning's you can leverage.

2. I’m reading: The Art of Learning: A Journey in the Pursuit of Excellence by Josh Waitzkin - a story of remarkable personal achievement and being driven to be the best. It’s heavy going and long but worth the investment. Especially if you are a fan of concepts on learning, habits and performance.

3. 5 Questions That (Newly) Virtual Leaders Should Ask Themselves.

CMO / CRO 📈

4. Proud to see Stef Iacono - who works on my team present on Outbound and Event Marketing: Tactics to securing ROI at virtual and in-person events. This is part of the Sales Impact Academies marketing series throughout May that I’m helping to curate - some fantastic guests in the coming weeks.

5. Over the past few weeks we have been redefining an end-to-end model on go-to-market and fully connecting product, marketing, sales and customer success. This article called Scaling Sales: What Are the Most Crucial Product Marketing Activities helped to provide useful ideas that aided our process and structural approach.

6. Should every business have a podcast? Are you behind the curve on launching a podcast for your brand? Is it still worth it or should you look at the next innovative trend?

Brain Stuff 🧠

7. The new normal. So the question is: will we resist it, or can we use it as an opportunity?

. . .

One more thing...Thanks for reading.

🤔 Q&A: How do you scale outbound marketing

I regularly get asked the question

“My business is growing but we are entering our ‘next phase’. To date we have relied on our network, the founders network or organic referrals to grow new business.

Which is great. However, now we are looking to scale how do we build a repeatable sales and marketing pipeline?

What MarTech do we need?

How do I scale demand generation?

How do we validate whether our approach is correct?

This is such a challenging, change and crucial pivot for a fast growth SaaS organisation. It’s now time to design processes, scale teams and execute marketing carefully to drive impact on the revenue.
