B-17 Bomber Ground Tour. Friday, May 22nd 2pm, McGhee Tyson Airport

The B-17G has a remarkable story. One filled with daring missions and personal sacrifice. More than just an airplane, the B-17 is living history that holds a remarkable connection to the past and is the most iconic image of World War II. Today, it serves as a tribute to those known as the greatest generation: the bold men and women who built and served on the heavy bombers in the 1940s.

Revenues from the B-17 tour help cover maintenance and operations costs for the aircraft and aid our ambition to "keep 'em flying" for many years to come.

Blount Mansion Virtual Tour. Online/Anytime!

Like museums throughout Tennessee and nationwide, Blount Mansion is closed to help slow the spread of COVID 19. But don't despair—they’ve made it possible for you to pay a virtual visit to their National Historic Landmark site via their virtual tour!

This “house with many eyes” witnessed the birth and growth of Knoxville, housed Tennessee governors and prominent families, and later became slum housing on the Knoxville riverfront. It was saved by early preservationists from destruction, and survives today to tell the stories of Tennessee's birth and growth.

Leslie Jordan Story Time

The Will & Grace actor and East Tennessee native has been sharing hilarious videos and storytimes to his more than 1 million followers as he socially distances in Chattanooga, Tennessee — and the actor introduced a few of his formerly stray cats on his instagram feed. If there's one person who can find the laughter during a near-nationwide quarantine, it's Leslie Jordan. His Insta feed can be found here.
Mystery Link: Expect The Unexpected!

Looking For Downtown Parking?

Downtown has free parking on nights and weekends, but with the expansion project at the State Street Garage, finding parking can be confusing. Keep up-to-date with the city of Knoxville parking blog by clicking here.

Also,
There's now an app that can help you strategically pick your parking garage destination, before you even start your car and pull out of the driveway.

Parkopedia.com offers a free phone app that reports data from sensors at the entrances to City-owned downtown garages. So you can see, in real-time, how many parking spaces are available at each garage.

Visit Parkopedia.com to get the app. Enter Knoxville when prompted to enter a city or place.
