Insulin price is not the kinda thing most people think about. For perspective, prevalence for diabetes in Indian Adults is 9% (Over 7.7 Cr cases). As per some assumptions there are additional 3.5 Cr undiagnosed diabetes cases. A significant number of diabetics require Insulin (infrequently or frequently) and apparently one in two patients in India lack access to Insulin.

Insulin is ridiculously expensive. Despite Insulin prices in India being less than 1/4th of that in USA they are a bitter pill for most patients. The average monthly expense for a diabetic comes to be anywhere between Rs 3000-8000.
