Questionnaire:

Both in response to the ideas generated by Prof Evan Parker's talk for the Café Scientific over a month ago and in response to the immediate coronavirus crisis, the VGS (with input from the Town Council's Environment Committee) put together an on-line questionnaire to see how we are currently managing and how we think we'll be able to manage in the future.

So, a big thank you to all of you who filled in the questionnaire. The report and press release showing the results are available to look at – and if you'd like to see the full set of responses, just get in touch.

News and Events:

Meanwhile, many things have been going on in Sidmouth:

• Volunteers, local authorities and businesses continue to provide an amazing service through the crisis: Sidmouth Help Link is an excellent go-to website, as is the Town Council's. And there's more official info on financial help too.

• As seen in one of the themes from the questionnaire, 'corner shops' are proving to be a 'corner-stone of the local community'.

• Another theme was 'traffic' – with issues such as new cycle lanes and wider pavements and the school run very much in the news.

• The Science Festival's Biodiversity & Horticulture working group has created its first drafts: watch this space for more.

• And its next Café Scientifique will be an online talk as part of the Sidmouth Arboretum's Tree Week on Tuesday 19th May.

Finally:
We can enjoy the spring and do our bit by carrying out some 'citizen science'; or we can try out some 'fixing'. And if you wanted to do some sewing and help out a little, there's always the Sidmouth PPE supply project.
