London Internet of Things Meetup.

May 2020

As we wait with bated breath for the next episode of 'Prime Minister' at 5pm, I thought I'd provide us with welcome distraction.

I'm featuring some of the #iot companies in our community there to help you stay safe (from cars) as more of us will dust off our bikes and cycle around.

I hope you'll join us on May 19th for our next meetup (our 99th)!

I also hope you'll be joining us on June 23rd for a special 100th (remote) edition of the meetup featuring talks by
Kevin Ashton (who coined the term internet of things)
David Rose (who pioneered consumer #iot products with his work at Ambient Devices)
Usman Haque (founder of Pachube, the first data broker for #iot, as well as Thingful and initiator of this meetup).

We'll also enjoy some music by Polyop, Paul PodCatherine Tunguah. Watch out for the invite in the next few weeks!

The 100th is also a good time for me to step down as organiser, so if you're interested in taking this on from July onwards, please reach out!

#staysafe #stayhome and see you on the 19th!

Alex

Thanks, always, to our sponsor:

We love:
Contact-free deliveries with What3words

#cycling

Beryl make brake-responsive lights and a laser projection light to help cars see you coming at night.

Beeline make a glanceable display to help you head in the right direction on more leisurely rides.

Omata (our friends in L.A.) make a more professional display to help you see how high you're climbing (useful for what our friend Mark calls the South London Alps).

Go Velo (is still in stealth mode) but our friend Josh Liu is leading it so you know it's gonna be good.
Next meetup: Talks by founder of BleepBleeps Tom Evans, Duncan Wilson of the new MSc Connected Environments at UCL and more!
