Dear <<First Name>>,

Below you'll find more creativity and resourcefulness in this time of social isolation, but it also got me to thinking.

I was enjoying the Heart lights (link to post) on a nearby resort the other morning and wondered how many other people are feeling the love from these displays of human kindness? I counted 8 people in my little town that were doing something and that's only those that I know of. It doesn't include all the people making personal masks for others, putting up signs or window displays I haven't seen, and the many other acts of inspiration, caring, and unity that are happening every day. So, I'm a word person not a numbers person, but with Kevin's help, I did some really quick math.

Santa Ynez has a population of around 4,000. If at least 8 people are sharing kindness in these unique and wonderful ways during this virus, that's .002 percent of the population of Santa Ynez. There are 327 million people in the United States. If we apply that same .002, we get 654,000 people spreading the joy around the country. With 7.8 billion people on the planet, that same .002 equals 15,600,000 people! And that's a crazy low number because we all know there are way more than 8 people in every 4000 who are sharing the love!
Lovin' it!

Drive by Birthday!
Santa Ynez, CA

Physical distancing requirements could present a challenge for a birthday party but not for this family! With balloons, a sign, and lots of waving they encouraged drivers and pedestrians (like me) to give a shoutout to Cooper (on the bike) to celebrate his birthday. I felt lucky to witness this display of resourcefulness and affection. I thanked them for letting me take the picture and walked on with a smile leaving behind the sound of car horns and more birthday wishes. Happy Birthday Cooper!

Random Rocks
Santa Ynez, CA

A friend told me that, while walking his dog in his neighborhood, he has come across several rocks with images or uplifting messages on them. I found 3 (top left - a flower, top right - a lady bug, bottom left - Smile) out in the open near the side of the road. He said the most he has counted was 8. So to this random rock artist, we thank you for your brightly colored uplifting designs! And thanks to Jerry for sharing this with me.

I'd love to hear from you! - Debbie Jenae
