Dear Members

As we gear up for a return to golf tomorrow I wanted to make members aware of the current course conditions and specifically mention the requirements for those using motorised transport while playing.
Its no secret that we have had excessive amounts of rainfall with year to date figures at 541mm. This sees us 300mm (12 inches) more than at the same time last year and is far and away the most rain we have seen at this point in the year on our records.
Ultimately the course is in a wet state and I will be asking all those members playing tomorrow that use motorised transport to keep to the rough at all times. Furthermore can you please ensure like always that you are driving well away from greens and not driving onto the tees. My plan moving forward will be to place a sign on the first tee indicating what rules are required for motorised transport users for that day. If there is no sign present than you are free to drive where you like.
I ask that if any of you see another member disregarding these simple requests that you politely remind them of whats required. With winter approaching it is essential that we all play a positive role to ensure our course can get through this period with as little damage as possible.

I hope you all enjoy being back out playing some golf as of tomorrow.

Ryan Hammond

DG&CC Course Superintendent
