Worship this Sunday

This Sunday we celebrate!!
There is nowhere and nothing that can keep us from God.
“God is in the house!” we say happily in the sanctuary.
Yes! And God is in the condo, the apartment, the duplex, camper, the tent, and under the overpass. God is in the house and under the sky and flowing in the river and out of your kitchen tap and down in the dirt where the roots are stirring.
God is in our breath and bones.
In God we live and move and have our being! Holy, holy, holy.
Let's sing. And pray. And talk together.
Let us give our hearts, again and again and consider how our lives are marked by "Little Altars Everywhere."
This is a particularly wonderful time to create a worship area in your home.
We will weave them together...
See you Sunday,
Pastor Chris
P.S. If you ever want to chat, give me a call. I'd love to hear your voice!

Thank You, Trustees!

Thanks, trustees, for the b-e-a-u-tiful new ramp leading to the chapel door at PPUMC!
On Mother's Day morning Morgan Jellison, Steve Kerrigan and John Nielsen removed and then rebuilt the ramp leading up the side of the building.
(On a personal note, the smell of fresh sawdust was a real treat.)
Thanks to Liz Pierce for shepherding this and other projects with a priority on safety as well as getting things done!
Those of you who have been stealthily (and healthily) tending to the grounds of the church have done a beautiful job. Thank you.
The building is smiling it's spring green smile at passers by.
And another stealthy visitor has bestowed a lovely quilt-of-many-colors on our foyer. Thank you for putting color in the doorway.
To every one of you reading this:
You are doing a great job.
There would be a million thank yous filling the air, if everyone could only know the many, many acts of kindness and care we are collectively taking on behalf of one another and of ALL.
I am so very proud of you!
In a humble, filled with gratitude and thank you Daily Creator, sort of way.
Pastor Chris
Gold stars to anybody who can spot the Choir Director in the photo above!
(And gold stars to anybody who can't!!)

A Reminder - Let Us Know What's Up With Your Household!

Earlier this week we emailed to ask you to complete this SUPER SHORT SURVEY on behalf of your household.
32 households have responded so far. (Wow.)
The results are reassuring - even encouraging!!!
We hope to hear back from EVERYONE – so we can put together a little information to share with the congregation. For example, what portion of our households have an extra roll of toilet tissue (no specific names used).
This is a second chance to participate.
We know that all of us would like to hear that all of us are OKAY.
Please take a minute to check off some boxes now!
We hope we made it fun and easy.
Click here or above to begin! SUPER SHORT SURVEY

MN Annual Conference COVID-19 update

The Minnesota United Methodist Church continues to take an informed, thoughtful approach in its response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this week, the conference posted an insightful article discussing recent comments from Dr. Michael Osterholm of the University of Minnesota and Gov. Tim Walz on the positive role of faith communities in guiding their members through this challenging time and what the coming months may hold.

Among the highlights, Dr. Osterholm stressed the pandemic isn’t going away anytime soon and that Minnesotans should continue to find creative ways to gather and be church for the foreseeable future. Osterholm also pointed out that even after there is a vaccine—which he believes will take at least a year—it will likely be much longer until it is widely available. “We’re living on virus time right now and not human time,” he said.

Meanwhile, in a conference call with faith leaders from across the state, Gov. Walz emphasized his commitment to partnering with them to provide helpful guidance for faith communities. The governor said he feels a “cautious urgency” to help churches re-open because of their “fundamental” role to people’s well-being. However, considering that social distancing may be required for a year or more, gatherings will need to look different.

In that light, Bishop Bruce Ough recently asked all congregations to suspend in-person worship through at least through May 30 but emphasized it may likely be longer. Even though certain restrictions are being lifted, COVID-19 will continue to spread, with indoor gatherings in particular posing a significant exposure risk.

Click HERE to read to full article and, as always, please feel free to share any questions you may have about PPUMC’s response to the pandemic.

The people of PPUMC stand with the Minnesota Conference in rejecting the

Traditional Plan approved at General Conference 2019 as inconsistent

with the gospel message and will resist its implementation.

We remain committed to full inclusion.

LOVE GROWS HERE.
