Debden Dynamos set for 550km cycling challenge without leaving home
A group of teachers and cycling enthusiasts from Debden Park High School - The Debden Dynamos - have set themselves a 72-hour challenge to raise money for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.
The group had planned to ride from Debden to Dublin in the 72 hours, but because of the coronavirus lockdown have now decided to cover the same distance but without leaving home!
They will aim to ride 550km together, but separate, using their bikes, turbo trainers and the virtual cycling platform Zwift.
The challenge starts at 1pm on Friday, May 22, with the team aiming to ride the full 550km distance by 1pm on Monday, May 24.
