Free Training & Career Events:

• Charlottesville Downtown Job Center is hosting an online Interview with Walmart Distribution Center on Tuesday, May 5, 1pm (their hourly rate has been strong) *and* an online Facebook Live GO Trade Builder's Academy Information Session  on Wednesday, May 6, 12pm.  
• Reliant is hosting a Charlottesville-based Virtual Job Fair on Wednesday, May 6, 1-4pm. You must create an account and register for the event in order to see the employer list. Once we receive that, we'll include it on the Event Calendar.  
• PVCC Workforce Services Division is offering free online classes in a number of areas -  finding a job, making websites, marketing your business, supervising others, personal finance and more! Course(s) must be completed within 3 months.
• Check out the Penny Hoarder list of free classes in photography, music, foreign language and more which are being offered by a number of companies (but not for long!). 
• Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is offering a number of free online classes geared toward the job search, technology and soft skills.  This week's classes include setting up a google account, being positive during negative times, Excel, PowerPoint, interviewing, emotional intelligence and more! 
• Thinking about film as a career? Check out the Virginia Film Festival which has announced the first three events in the series, which will be presented every other Wednesday at 3:00 PM EDT beginning on May 6. All conversations in the series will be free, open to the public, live-streamed on Zoom, and archived on the VAFF’s YouTube channel. Pre-registration is required to attend the live-streamed Zoom conversations.
• Are you a business owner who has been impacted by COVID-19?  If so, check out Charlottesville City's Office of Economic Development free webinar series.  The final part will be held on 5/13 - Recovering from CV-19: Back to Business as Usual...or Not?, 9-11am.  Pre-registration is required.  
• Look up to the night sky during the month of May to see some lovely sights!

• Common Caches seeks two work-from-home Summer (and beyond if possible) Interns.  This would qualify for internship credit in PVCC's IT/Cyber programs if you would want that. Must have experience with at least one programming language (swift, c++, java, etc.).
