Linda Versus The Quarantine
Special thanks to Lynda Matthews for her reporting and photographs.
Just down the street from the hubbub at the Life Styles' Stensgaard Center lies the quiet cul-de-sac of Linda Jo Circle, where Linda and other Life Styles clients live in fourteen charming duplexes. Linda Jo Circle is a tight-knit neighborhood where clients maintain their own households under the watchful eye of our Supported Living staff.
Linda has been managing life under quarantine exceptionally well, keeping busy with her knitting hobby, taking in the fresh spring air, and spending time with her roommate, Vicky. Like all other Life Styles clients, her temperature is assessed daily and lunch and dinner are delivered to her door every weekday.
We recently asked Linda a few questions about what she's doing now and what she's looking forward to in the midst of life under quarantine:
If I could have one thing for the rest of this social distancing it would be: A boyfriend.
I was looking forward to ______, but it was cancelled: The movies.
The first thing I'm going to do when all this is over is: Go to Walmart.
My favorite meal has been: The Saturday cookouts we have at Linda Jo.
I entertain myself by: Looking at the flowers in the Linda Jo cul-de-sac.
The easiest part of the quarantine has been: Being around friends at Linda Jo.
