Call Your Reps to release immigrants in detention vulnerable to COVID-19: WEEK TWO

Now, over 90 detainees and 3 employees across Texas' detention facilities have tested positive for COVID-19. Despite this rapid spread and calls from advocates, ICE detention centers in Texas continue to be dangerously overcrowded with inadequate health and hygiene measures. We must keep making calls to let state officials know.

As COVID-19 continues to spread through our communities, the conditions in these facilities will put thousands of lives at risk inside and outside of facility walls, and could overburden nearby hospitals and health care systems already caring for patients with COVID-19.

Join Our Second Week of Action!

This week, we ask health professionals and students across Texas to call our governorsenatorsrepresentativescounty judges, and county sheriffs and demand they release 1) vulnerable immigrants detained in ICE custody and 2) ensure access to proper hygiene products in ICE facilities that meet public health standards.
  • TODAY: Sign Our Petition and spread the word to your networks to make calls this week!
  • TUESDAY: Call and tweet your Governor!
  • WEDNESDAY: Call and tweet your County Judge!
  • THURSDAY: Call and tweet your County Sheriff's Office!
  • FRIDAY: Call and tweet your Senators and House Reps!
