Georgia Tech does not support or encourage students to pursue international internship opportunities this summer. Energy and Sustainability Analyst Intern

We are looking for an Energy and Sustainability Analyst Intern to become part of the inodú Chile team for the summer, fall or spring. The intern will get to work on pressing challenges at the intersection of social needs, the environment, and energy in Chile. Additionally, we are looking for an intern which wants to experience a startup environment. 

Projects our interns will be supporting:
1. At inodu, we have developed a data analytics platform for the energy markets that are offering to our clients. We would like our interns to support its development.
2. Support with consulting projects, the type of project will depend on the work we are executing for our clients.

Desired Qualifications:
• High academic achievement
• Can show significant impact through extracurricular activities
• Strong interest in energy and sustainability
• Looking to be part of a challenging and dynamic startup environment
• Mature, driven and can work well in teams
• Good communication skills, especially presenting work to others
• Preferably junior, senior or grad student
• Looking for Engineering, Computer Science, Science or Math Majors
• Has at least reading understanding of Spanish
• Feels comfortable programing and processing data
• Knowledge of Python and manipulating data from SQL databases

What you’ll do day-to-day:
Research analysts will be placed in one of three groups for the summer (Fundamental Equities, Credit Opportunities, or Asset-Backed Securities), where they will research, analyze, and perform due diligence on potential investments, all while gaining exposure to live deals as they progress.


Who we’re looking for:
- A demonstrated aptitude for financial analysis is a plus, as are excellent communication skills and previous internship experience at an investment bank, alternative asset manager, or longonly manager, though time spent working in finance is only one of many paths that can lead to an internship with us.
- Successful interns in this role will not only analyze new investment ideas but will also contribute ideas of their own.

The internships are full-time and designed to give participants hands-on job experience and expand their hard and soft career skills. Cultural Vistas has multiple internship opportunities, as well as fellowships with internship components.  The following programs offer both paid and unpaid internships. Scholarships are available through Cultural Vistas!

Unite for Sight

Accra, Ghana
 
The organization operates in a very cost-effective manner, so it does not need to pass along typical administrative and volunteer coordination expenses to its volunteers.These unpaid internships are available in varied lengths.  A conservative estimate of the cost for lodging, airport pick-up, and food for 6 weeks ranges from $1500 to $2000 depending on whether the volunteer is in a single or a double room. A conservative estimate of the cost for lodging, airport pick-up, and food for 8 weeks ranges from $1950 to $2500 depending on whether the volunteer is in a single or a double room.  Additionally, students are required to fundraise $1,800 for Unite For Sight's international eye care programs. This tax-deductible donation is an essential part of a volunteer's contribution to patients living in extreme poverty, and this donation is in lieu of any administrative program fees. In contrast to all other volunteer abroad organizations, Unite For Sight does not have an administrative program fee. Unite For Sight 

These global health programs are designed for university students, advisors, and faculty.(This film highlights) scales overall impact on global health delivery by developing and nurturing the next generation of global health leaders. www.uniteforsight.org. Unite For Sight’s Global Impact Corps engages students in sustainable, long-term, community based programs where they have the opportunity to learn from, support and assist local professionals. 
Majors of Interest: This program is particularly interesting for students interested in public health, medicine, social entrepreneurship, or international development.

CURRENT RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

Starting in 2020, RWTH Aachen University will offer travel grants and scholarships in order to support research stays of doctoral candidates and postdocs from strategically relevant international universities or research institutions. Funding will be provided by the Excellence Strategy of the German federal and state governments.

The goal of the Advanced Research Opportunities Program (AROP) is to develop and/or strengthen bilateral relations with international partner institutions. AROP offers travel grants and scholarships, as well as the opportunity to participate in German-language courses and intercultural trainings at RWTH.

Moreover, RWTH's Welcome Center for International Researchers will offer advice to scholarship recipients whilst preparing for and throughout the stay in Aachen and support applicants with all questions, academic and otherwise, about their stay.

Who can Apply?

Doctoral candidates and postdocs of strategically relevant international universities and research institutions, which are either partners of RWTH or plan on initiating a partnership with the University.

Support for Incomings

  • A travel grant of 1,000 euros (lump sum)
  • German language classes and intercultural trainings
  • A monthly stipend of 1,800 euros for a period of up to 6 months

Goals of AROP

The goal of the program is to strengthen and intensify bilateral relations between RWTH Aachen University and international universities and research institutions of strategic relevance. Among other purposes, the research stays may be used to prepare joint research projects and publications, initiate joint projects in the field of capacity building, develop teaching projects at the partner university, and organize future visits and student exchange programs.

South Korea


KAIST Visiting Student Researcher(VSR) Program

The Visiting Student Researcher(VSR) Program is for students who are currently enrolled in or taking a leave of absence from universities outside of South Korea and who wish to conduct research in one of KAIST’s laboratories for less than a year. This program does not provide any credit during the research period. Programs offering credits are the Exchange Program and International Summer School. More information can found at Incoming Exchange and KAIST International Summer School (KISS).

Entry Requirements

All applicants must satisfy the following criteria in order to apply for the Visiting Student Researcher Program:

  • Completed a minimum of 1 year full-time study at their home university

  • GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.0 or better (on a 4.3 point scale) or equivalent

  • Currently studying at a university outside of South Korea and interested in doing a research at a KAIST laboratory

  • Have contacted KAIST laboratories of interest and have received official permission from the professor who is in charge of the KAIST laboratory

  • TOEFL iBT 80 or its equivalent on another English language proficiency test (Students whose nationality is a native English-speaking country can submit a copy of their passport instead of an English language proficiency test score)

KAUST Visiting Student Research Program

The Program:

The KAUST Visiting Student Research Program is an opportunity for exceptional students to conduct research with faculty mentors for the program duration of 4-6 months in selected areas of basic and applied research projects.
