Dear Friends,

Below is a summary of the prayers we lifted to God during worship this past Sunday, as well as some requests that came in over the course of the week.  In order to keep these concerns within our community, we’re only offering the first names and last initials (of those we know):

Prayers for those in our congregation currently experiencing COVID-19
  • Jeff B
Ongoing prayers for Olga B and Magda B., sisters, with serious health concerns.

For those who are grieving during this time
  • Jean Anne S. and family
  • Kate P and family
  • Brett H and family
  • Barb H and family
From Sunday, May 3:
From  Alex H : Prayers for those who are experiencing deep loneliness during this time. May they know grace.
From  Mike S: Please pray for Trey for his recovery from brain cancer.
From  Kathy P: Prayers for my family please! We lost a wonderful man to this horrible virus. My cousin Suzanne's husband passed away
From  Alex H : Prayers of gratitude for educators who are doing their best to work with students from afar.
From  Marilyn R: Prayers of praise for God’s very real presence of daily strength throughout a challenging week.
From Lois P: For Mike and his family as they continue to deal with his cancer
From Lois P: For Aunt Mildred  (101) who has tested positive for COVID 19.  So far asymptomatic
From  Cynthia : Please pray for my friend Lenore whose 37 year old son, Tim, is fighting lung cancer which has spread to his liver.  It seems that he may be losing his fight.  He has 3 young children.

Prayer Requests from last week via email:

Prayers of thanks that Chris Day is free and declared negative for COVID-19

From Kathy Pilgrim Peil: continued prayers for her brother Gene, who has undergone surgery and is now sitting up, taking nourishment, and witnessing to the nurses about how Great God is.
From Kathy Pittack: prayers for her cousin Suzanne at the loss of her husband Mark to COVID-19. He was the father of 5 children, and 3 grandchildren.

Jim Jacques, who suffered a stroke, but we’re grateful he is now home and recuperating.

The Otten family friend, Jim Mango, passed away from Leukemia.

Great joy at the birth of the Brewer’s newest grandson: Maclin William Brewer, born 4/23/20.

For funeral directors everywhere, especially Debbie and Kline of Ashton’s Funeral Home, as they struggle to keep up with deaths from COVID-19, and as they try to sensitively manage their important work without usual means of comfort (e.g. family gatherings, close personal attention, hugs, touches, gestures of warmth, etc.)

Ongoing prayers for safety for all the essential workers who enable the rest of us to stay home.  Prayers of gratitude for their hard work!

Healthcare Professionals on the front lines battling the pandemic:
