Demian DinéYazhi’ Naasht’ézhí Tábąąhá Girls, two-color lithograph, 22 x 30″, edition of 17. This image features a photograph of the artit's mother and grandmother embracing, interlaced with a Navajo weaving design.

Hello Friends,

How are you doing? I hope you are doing well. Of course these are challenging times for everyone; here at Crow's Shadow we've had to postpone our May/June artists-in-residencies into 2021, with hope that we will be able to host the next artist as scheduled in July. We are also moving forward with printing a backlog of lithographic editions in the studio, while at the same time preparing for whatever contingencies this crisis might yet have in store.

I wanted to bring your attention to another worthy organization that Crow's Shadow has relied on in the past: Native Arts and Culture Foundation. NACF is continually supporting Native Artists and the Native cultural community, through a multitude of programs, including mentor-ships, fellowships, and annual financial support of places like Crow's Shadow. There are so many worthy non-profits, but NACF is close to our hearts and is a wonderful organization that we have worked with on many occasions in the past. Donations to foundations like NACF have a lasting impact on the artists and community they serve.

Your support of Crow's Shadow and of NACF is greatly appreciated, especially with all of the challenges we are facing.

Please stay safe and stay healthy and we will see you all soon.

Sending our best from CSIA,
Karl, Nika, and Judith

If you are in the position to support Crow's Shadow and would like to do so, here are some ways to help:

  • Purchase artwork from our extensive online print gallery. Proceeds from a print will be used to continue operations at CSIA, as well as payment to individual artists. Call us if you'd like to pay over time.
  • Donate directly to Crow's Shadow via our online donation form; donations are tax-deductible. We have a new donation page with a recurring monthly option for any amount that you feel comfortable giving.
  • Shop through Amazon Smile and enter Crow's Shadow as your organization to support; a portion of proceeds is donated back to CSIA.
  • Follow Crow's Shadow on Facebook and Instagram
The gallery and studio are currently closed to the public. We are still answering the phone and emails, and are shipping artwork. Thank you for your support of CSIA now and always.

Crow’s Shadow is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a creative conduit for educational, social and economic opportunities to Native Americans through artistic development.
