Dear Friend,

These are unprecedented times. We don’t need to tell you that. Or tell you the many ways the COVID-19 pandemic has upended everyone’s daily lives. But did you know that it’s also putting news organizations at risk?

Like many sectors, the news industry has been hit hard with layoffs and furloughs. But Montana can’t afford to lose public service journalism like ours—reporting that delivers facts instead of fear, that speaks truth to power. Especially now.

We’re reaching out to you today as part of #GivingTuesdayNow, a three-day national fundraising campaign for nonprofit journalism in response to the COVID-19 crisis.

As news deserts continue to expand, many communities around the country are left without critical access to information. Information that’s backed by sources, facts, and research. You can count on us to deliver accurate reporting that helps you keep your family safe and brings our state together throughout this crisis, through recovery, and beyond.

Our goal is to add 25 new members by the end of the day today. Any giving level—whether it’s $5 or $100—would be greatly appreciated.

We are grateful that you are a regular Montana Free Press reader. Now will you join the community of loyal subscribers who fund our public service journalism, in honor of #GivingTuesdayNow?

Yes! I support MTFP and the critical work you’re doing!

This #GivingTuesdayNow, invest in unbiased and independent journalism that matters. Join us in fighting fear with facts.

With gratitude,

John S. Adams
