Tēnā koutou e te whānau,

Next week there will be a decision on whether we stay in Level 3 or drop to Level 2. We all hope for a speedy transition back to more normal life, but we need to be sure that Covid-19 does not re-establish in our communities.

That means work and learn from home if you can, and keep your bubble as small as possible. Thanks to all whānau who have helped eliminate the spread Covid-19 - keep going!

We posted some job and training opportunities on our website last week.
If you have opportunities to share, please email panui@ngatirarua.co.nz.

Get your Flu jab

Regardless of our age or health status, we should all think seriously about getting a flu jab this season.

One in four people get the flu each year. If you have a chronic health condition, are aged over 65, have tamariki aged under four who have respiratory problems, or are hapū, then you can get your flu vaccination now and for free.

If you haven’t had one before e te whānau, now is the time, even if you do not fall into the above categories. It’s easy, doesn’t hurt and will help protect you.

All you need to do is contact your GP.
Some pharmacies are also offering the free service.

Radio Rārua

To connect whanau, and help ease social isolation which has been made worse by Covid-19, we are trying something new. Radio Rarua is a short programme on Fresh FM, and will be available across Te Tau Ihu and also as a podcast.

In our first episode we'll talk to Rima Piggott, and the week after, Molly Luke.
