Hi Covenant friends and family,
We're sending out this week's mid-week email on Wednesday instead of Tuesday, so we can share an update from last night's Session meeting. Among other things, the Session is responsible for worship at our church. They decide when we celebrate communion, receive special offerings, and celebrate baptisms.
During this unusual time, they also make the decisions about when we worship in person. At last night's Session meeting, they decided to extend our current COVID-19 provisions through June 12, which means that we will continue to worship virtually with an email service sent out on Sunday mornings. We will not have in-person, non-essential gatherings such as small group meetings, Sunday School classes, or ministry team meetings through June 12 as well.
These are difficult decisions to make as we all miss our church family and being together. We also want to be faithful and smart in the ways we care for each other, and we believe extending these provisions are the best ways we can do that. As always, we're here if you'd like to talk more about these decisions, and you may also reach out to Clerk of Session Judy Grieve if you have questions.
Be well, friends, and trust that God is with us today and in the days to come.
Grace and peace,
Katelyn & Andy

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer - Romans 12:12
Dear Covenant Family,
It's week 8 or 9 of quarantine for most of us. Many of us aren't used to being patient. Our culture promotes fast service, fast delivery time, fast download speed, and so on. We're guessing that many of you join us in feeling impatient at even waiting 60 seconds at a red light. The coronavirus has given us an opportunity to flex our patience muscles; let's try to take advantage of it!
Please join us today at noon for a time to pray together as a church family.
Peace and blessings,
Becky, Dana, and Sabina

+ + +
Heavenly Father, help us to be patient with great understanding because an individual who isn't is often quick-tempered and displays foolishness. We pray that here on earth, we reflect you in all ways and that your understanding will govern our behavior. Let patience have its way within our hearts so that we can reflect a God-like patience to those around us. Let your understanding shape us as a people so that we can reach and understand those who need you. Amen.
